About the role
At Stenger & Stenger, you’ll work alongside experienced software developers building applications that support a fast-growing law firm operating across 12 states. Founded in 1994, Stenger & Stenger is a technology-driven law firm specializing in creditors’ rights.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications using Visual Studio (.NET) and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to understand requirements and build effective solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following development best practices.
- Test and debug applications to ensure quality and reliability.
- Help document technical designs, processes, and system functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and team meetings.
- Research new technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Gain exposure to software deployment, database development, and system integrations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Expected graduation within the next 1-3 years.
- Able to work: Full-time during summer break Up to 20 hours per week during the school year
- Able to work in office in Grand Rapids, MI
- Basic experience with object-oriented programming through coursework or personal projects.
- Familiarity with C#, VB.NET, Java, Python, or another programming language.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus.
- Interest in desktop application development using .NET technologies.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, OCR, or large language models is a plus but not required.
