About the role

Join the Amazon Web Services EC2 Instance Connectivity development team responsible for connectivity services to AWS EC2 instances. This team owns services that enhance customers' observability and troubleshooting by providing a suite of tools to connect to their EC2 instances that adhere to enterprise scaling and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Owns services enhancing customers' observability and troubleshooting for connecting to their EC2 instances.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry best practices and advances knowledge through internal and external conferences, AWS trainings, and team and org-wide knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Prioritizes work towards security and customer experience, including new feature development and system reliability as we scale systems to support ongoing service growth.
  • Responsible for the entire software lifecycle, from design to development and operations.
  • Meets daily to share progress and discuss obstacles, communicates frequently, and works in small groups.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on each other’s code to improve.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
  • 3+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Experience in software development, Linux and Networking protocols, Linux OS and network troubleshooting, server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience leading and influencing teams or organizations, debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
