Software Development Engineer - EC2, Outposts
About the role
This position involves on-call responsibilities typically for two weeks every 2-3 months. The first week is primary and the second week is secondary on-call. We don't like to get paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause to prevent pages for the same issues twice.
Responsibilities
- Manage the network route that enables communication between Outpost and its associated AWS Region
- Perform several transformations and validations on the packets both to and from the AWS Region
- Set up and manage network configuration
- Push the network configurations to other Outpost services
- Push packet inspections
- Set up and manage the logical interconnect virtual router that enables communication between Outpost and customer on-premise network
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

- Supporting own code in production

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
- USA, WA, Seattle - 143,700.00 - 194,400.00 USD annually
