Embedded Software Development Engineer II (C/C++), EC2 Instance Networking

About the role

The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Instance Networking team is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer II (C/C++) to contribute to the development of automation and analytics services. This role involves building scalable frameworks and high availability services to automate fault detection, remediation strategies, data warehouse analytics, and data visualizations across a large organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS networking components, back-end software development, full-stack web development, and experience with machine learning and real-time data processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C/C++.
• Implement and maintain scalable frameworks and services for automated fault detection and remediation.
• Develop data warehouse analytics and data visualizations to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of developed solutions into production environments.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of machine learning models for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
• Ensure the security and reliability of the software through rigorous testing and quality assurance practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C/C++.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Skills

• Experience with AWS networking components.
• Knowledge of back-end software development using AWS services.
• Familiarity with full-stack web development.
• Understanding of machine learning and real-time data processing of time series data.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 annually.
