Software Application Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and manage a team of software developers
• Set clear goals, provide guidance, and ensure deadlines are met
• Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment
• Keep the Lights On: Ensure the stability, reliability, and continuous operation of software systems
• Address any technical issues promptly to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with other departments to meet service-level agreements
• Perform performance evaluations and identify areas for improvement
• Implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) when necessary
• Collaborate with PMO, architects, product owners, scrum masters, and other stakeholders
• Escalate risks and concerns effectively and timely

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in software development experience within information technology in a highly regulated field such as insurance or finance
• 5 years minimum within a management role
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and web technologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft technologies (e.g., .NET, C#, Azure services)
• Excellent supervisory and communication abilities
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams
