SOF Exercise Designer IV - USASOC

Quattro, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking a SOF Exercise Designer to support the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) located at Ft. Bragg, NC. The role provides exercise planning and scenario development for all portions of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) for USASOC’s exercise programs.

About the role

The SOF Exercise Designer IV will create scenarios for Table Top Exercises (TTXs), Command Post Exercises, Senior Leader Seminars, Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercises, and Field Training Exercises to achieve commander-stated objectives. Designers conduct front-end analysis by reviewing operational directives, contingency plans, and conceptual approaches, then develop scenarios to stress decision-making, capabilities, and joint warfighting functions in complex environments. They contribute to the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) for operations-based or discussion-based exercises and attend all Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) events.

Work Environment

• Moderate noise (business office with computers, phones, and printers) and/or occasional loud noise (airfield, large equipment).

• Ability to work in confined areas and remote or rural environments.

Physical Demands

• Required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience in SOF OR Associate’s degree with 15 years of experience in SOF OR prior rank (E9, CW4-CW5, O5-O6) with 15 years of experience in SOF.
• Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Minimum of 6 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exercise and scenario design and management.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience conducting joint and coalition operations and training.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with Service, SOF, and Joint doctrine, planning, operations, training, and exercises.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience developing operational products to support GCC and TSOC SOF/CT exercises.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience researching and integrating current intelligence and operations to develop complex scenarios, studies, and analysis related to SOF core activities for all geographic areas.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience communicating exercise design details with operational-level exercise planners, staffs, commanders, interagency partners, and partner nation exercise planners.
• Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.
• Ability to access federal facilities in compliance with Real ID.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Quattro will not sponsor work visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of Service or Joint Senior Professional Military Education or Enlisted equivalent.
• Graduate of Service or Joint ILE or Enlisted equivalent.
• Prior experience assigned or supporting USASOC.
