About the role

The position is located at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System West Los Angeles Campus within the Community Engagement and Reintegration Service (CERS).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate services provided by community-based programs funded under the VA emergency housing contracts.
  • Build relationships with various VA services such as the Homeless - Continuum Veterans Program, Suicide Prevention Program, and Veteran Justice Outreach.
  • Provide direct patient care services in the program area, often serving as the sole practitioner in this specialty at the facility.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the community contracted program, support the development of policies and procedures, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
  • Develop and monitor staff compliance with practice standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice, and service delivery.
  • Initiate and conduct program or service audits, including productivity assessments, and evaluate the efficacy of improvement efforts.
  • Operate Government Furnished Equipment (Motor Vehicle) to frequently travel into the community as required.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at the advanced practice level.
  • Experience in working with homeless veterans, individuals with substance use disorders (SUD), and mental health conditions.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve program operations and service delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with various VA services and community partners.

Pay

GS-12 grade level, salary range: $76,080.00 to $100,600.00 per year.

Schedule

Full-time - Monday-Friday - 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Telework is available after the first 90 days of employment.
