Social Worker (LSW) - Co-Responder Social Service Unit

About the role

This role is part of a Co-Responder Social Services Unit that provides community-based crisis intervention and mental health support in collaboration with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, stabilization, case management, and follow-up
• Ensure safe and appropriate responses to individuals in crisis
• Listen and use motivational interviewing techniques
• Making clinical judgments for safe resolutions
• Working with emergency personnel and community resources
• Providing direct counseling and social work interventions
• Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
• Documenting all activities accurately

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
• Illinois LSW license
• Minimum three years of related experience

• Strong communication skills
• Able to de-escalate situations
• Flexibility to respond in various field settings
• Knowledge of mental health laws and regulations
