Queens Hospital Center is a leading healthcare provider in southeastern and central Queens, offering comprehensive medical care directly to residents. The hospital opened a new, state-of-the-art facility in 2002, including the Queens Cancer Center, the first comprehensive cancer treatment center in the borough.

Responsibilities

• Purpose of Position: This class of positions encompasses professional, supervisory, or administrative work in the operation of a social work department.
• Examples of Typical Tasks:
• Screens charts for historical and clinical information, conducts psychosocial evaluations, and formulates social work treatment plans.
• Provides individual and group counseling, concrete social services, and makes referrals to other agencies.
• Confers and consults with professionals to develop multidisciplinary treatment plans and evaluate patients’ progress.
• Ensures patient-centered quality care and services, adhering to all applicable rules and regulations.
• May assist in clinical services under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Mentors and assists less experienced staff, supervises students, and provides clinical supervision.
• Trains and educates staff in agency policies and procedures, and interprets clinical information.
• Coordinates work with other agencies and facilitates communication between departments and community resources.
• Provides consultation and technical assistance to staff and others.

Qualifications

• Valid license as an LCSW issued by the NYSED and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Knowledgeable in hospital organization, administration, and regulations.
• Individual and group counseling skills.
• Supervision of MSW level staff.
• Adult developmental skills in working with individuals, groups, and families.
• Familiarity with social services, educational, vocational, residential, health, and mental health systems.

Pay

Salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

9:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M, Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, no weekends.
