Our 291-bed, acute care hospital features the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, a highly credentialed acute rehabilitation center, the Paradise Health & Senior Center, a modern cardiac catheterization lab, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, and 24-hour emergency services. We also provide comprehensive behavioral health services on the hospital campus and Bayview campus in Chula Vista, including psychiatric continuum of care for adult patients, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling for Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Older Adults, and their significant others to cope with social and emotional problems related to hospitalization, illness, disability, or trauma.
• Offer information, referral services, and financial assistance referrals to patients and families.
• Conduct case management and milieu management, complete psychosocial assessments, and assist in developing and re-evaluating Treatment Plans.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate discharge planning.
• Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical records for each client during their length of stay.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Clinical Counseling.
• In states with a licensure requirement, licensure must be obtained upon hire and maintained in accordance with state regulations.
• Minimum one (1) year of Inpatient or Outpatient experience with an emphasis in mental health care.
• Experience working with a diverse population addressing a wide range of issues (e.g., death and dying, maternal and childcare, substance abuse, disability, chronic illness).

Preferred Qualifications

• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificate upon hire.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $28.62 to $42.47 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
