Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention and counseling for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, older adults and their significant others to cope with a multiplicity of social and emotional problems.
• Offer information and referral services, including referrals for financial assistance and supportive services to patients and families related to hospitalization, illness, disability or trauma.
• Provide case management and milieu management, complete psychosocial assessments, assist in the development and re‑evaluation of treatment plans, work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical records for each client during their length of stay.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Nevada (required).
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Nevada (preferred).
• Ability to communicate in English (spoken and written).
• One year hospital or outpatient experience with emphasis in mental health care (preferred).
• Experience working with a diverse population facing a wide range of issues such as death and dying, maternal and child care, substance abuse, disability, chronic illness, and the needs of the oncology population.
