About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to lead a staff of social workers to provide child protective services as outlined in federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and policies. Work involves the supervision of a staff of social workers that conduct child welfare operations in accordance with the North Carolina Child Welfare Policy and applicable state statutes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a staff of social workers to provide child protective services per federal, state, and local laws.
• Supervise staff conducting child welfare operations per NC Child Welfare Policy and state statutes.
• Assign cases to subordinates.
• Coordinate workflow operations.
• Supervise staff through leadership and management activities including case review and consultation (providing substantial recurring technical direction).
• Responsible for staff training.
• Resolve problems.
• Ensure proper and timely initiations.
• Ensure staff complete thorough assessment with ongoing consistent contacts.
• Ensure timely and appropriate case decisions, documented in real time.
