Social Work - Imperial Valley Lecturer Pool - 2026-2027
SDSU Imperial Valley is a college and branch campus of San Diego State University, located approximately 120 miles from the main campus in San Diego, on the border with Mexico in Imperial County.
About the role
SDSU Imperial Valley is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 part-time lecturer pool. Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time and are often made just before the start of the academic term, requiring availability on very short notice. The Fall term runs from mid-August to late December; the Spring term from mid-January to mid-May. Summer Session opportunities may also be available. Initial appointments are typically for one semester or one academic year and are renewable contingent upon satisfactory evaluations and the continuing availability of work. Applications remain active for the academic year in which they are submitted.
Responsibilities
- Teach social work practice courses and other related subjects
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program (required for teaching social work practice courses; highly preferred for other teaching areas)
- At least two years of post-Masters related experience
- Demonstrated currency in subject matter
- University teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to teaching and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups
Pay
Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges are:
- Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
