About the role

The College of Public Service at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications to establish and maintain an ongoing pool of lecturer applications from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs will be made.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate-level courses in Social Work, including but not limited to: Introduction to Social Work; Social Work Research; Human Behavior and the Social Environment; Contemporary Issues in Social and Public Policy; Social Work Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups; and/or Social Work Practice with Organizations and Communities.
  • Prepare syllabi and manage student course grades in the learning management system.
  • Occasional course assignments at the graduate level as needed.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • At least two years of full-time post-MSW social work practice experience or equivalent.
  • Expertise specific to the course subject, as demonstrated by coursework completed or relevant work experience.
  • At least 9 months of teaching and/or professional training experience in Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in teaching in a variety of formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online).

Qualifications

  • Doctoral (PhD), Doctor of Social Work (DSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), or master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in teaching in a variety of formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online).

Pay

$1,300 / credit hour. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
