About the role

The Division of Professional Studies at SDSU Imperial Valley is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 part-time lecturer pool. SDSU Imperial Valley is a college and branch campus of San Diego State University, situated approximately 120 miles from the main campus in San Diego, on the border with Mexico in Imperial County.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Social Work required from a CSWE-accredited MSW program for teaching social work practice courses and highly preferred for other teaching areas
  • At least two years of post-Masters related experience
  • Demonstrated currency in subject matter
  • University teaching experience preferred

Pay and Schedule

Initial appointments are typically for one semester or one academic year and are renewable contingent upon satisfactory evaluations and the continuing availability of work. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
