About the role
Olympic Medical Center is located on the beautiful North Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The area offers a variety of recreational activities including hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and cycling. It is bordered by the Olympic National Park, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Pacific Coast, with Seattle and Victoria, BC nearby.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate discharge planning and address complex care needs of patients at risk of adverse outcomes.
- Perform mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions (SBIRT) for substance use disorder or diagnosed substance use disorder.
- Cognitive function screenings, crisis interventions, safety planning, and other appropriate interventions for patients with psychosocial needs.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary team members such as Nurse Care Managers, physicians, nursing staff, and other staff to determine when social work involvement is necessary.
Requirements
- Masters of Social Work required.
- Previous experience in medical social work preferred.
- Experience in substance use disorder, behavioral health, end of life care, adults with housing insecurity, older adults, and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- SBIRT certification required within six months of hire.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of substance use disorder and behavioral health interventions.
