Social Services Director

About the role

The Social Service Director reports to the Administrator and is responsible for providing for the physical, psychological, and social needs of the residents, along with all other assigned duties. The Social Worker Director plays a key role in creating and sustaining an environment that humanizes and individualizes each resident.

Bear Mountain Healthcare is committed to care that recognizes each resident’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs beyond traditional nursing procedures and protocols. The Social Worker Director must perform all outlined duties and responsibilities using available resources to help residents attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities

• Motivate residents to make healthy adjustments to the nursing facility.
• Provide informal counseling to uncover problems interfering with residents’ socialization and participation in home activities.
• Assist residents who wish to share personal problems.
• Find solutions to issues concerning residents, families, and the facility.
• Report all grievances to the Administrator.
