Description of this role
Responsible for providing support and guidance to the Social Services Team. This includes the managing, planning and completion of activities related to the monitoring, documenting, and reporting of the social services team, initiatives, and programs.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
- Review and possess a working knowledge of all programs, projects, and forms related to department.
- Oversee staff, timesheets, PTO requests, coaching, uphold policy, and communicate daily with Director.
- Aid in managing the day-to-day duties and recruitment efforts for department.
- Oversee the on-going case management of team including ensuring weekly contact with graduates for at least one year after graduation to monitor achievement of program goals.
- Assist with the management of class roster, peer and family support groups, topic selection, and guest speaker coordination.
- Support staff training and in-service education, provide presentations of services, and travel to multiple locations.
- Collect and prepare monthly statistics/data, prepare monthly summaries, and participate in staff and department meetings.
- Utilize community resources and social support systems to assist clients in achieving self-sufficiency.
- Oversight of bonding activities, incentive distribution, bus tickets, and gas cards.
- Observe parent/child interactions and process child abuse/neglect applications as needed.
- Serve as backup to Director and attend staff meetings.
- Travel and attend external events as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals.
- Organizational and presentation skills, team orientation, and ability to work independently.
- Understanding and practice of NASW code of ethics.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or management preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field in combination with experience may be sufficient.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Competence in working with men and women who need direction as it relates to parenting issues.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle.

Pay Range
$55,000 - $60,000 per year
