Social Media Specialist (IG + Pinterest)
About the role
Aprés Nail is launching a new brand and seeks a Social Media Manager to establish its visual identity on Instagram and Pinterest from the ground up. This role is not about maintaining an existing account; it involves building the brand’s presence from the first post, developing platform-native expressions of the brand’s identity, and growing an engaged community from zero. The position sits within the shared Aprés Nail social team but has dedicated capacity and priorities for the new brand.
The Social Media Manager will provide day-to-day leadership for Instagram and Pinterest, translating the Brand Director’s strategy into campaign priorities, briefs, and execution. This specialist will own platform-level recommendations and execution, ensuring the brand’s aesthetic and voice are distinct and compelling.
Responsibilities
- Build the Instagram and Pinterest presence from scratch, including account setup, content pillars, platform best practices, and posting cadence, in partnership with the Social Media Manager, Creative team, and Marketing Manager.
- Own the content calendar for both platforms: plan, pitch, produce, schedule, and publish a consistent cadence of content tied to launch milestones, campaign priorities, and ongoing brand storytelling.
- Develop original, platform-native content concepts and repeatable series that reflect the brand’s distinct point of view, rather than adapting strategies from other brands or Aprés Nail.
- Grow followers, reach, and engagement from zero, with clear accountability to agreed launch and post-launch targets.
- Manage timely and thoughtful community engagement across both platforms, including comments and DMs, and surface audience insights, recurring questions, and sentiment shifts to the broader team.
- Identify and cultivate UGC and micro-creator opportunities tailored to each platform’s discovery mechanics, such as Instagram Explore/Reels and Pinterest search.
- Partner closely with the Videographer/Editor and Creative Director to translate approved brand and campaign concepts into platform-native assets, providing clear briefs, shot needs, references, and deadlines.
- Film and edit nimble social content independently when speed, authenticity, or trend responsiveness is required.
- Track performance weekly and monthly, translating results into actionable content recommendations and adjusting the calendar based on what works.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience managing Instagram for a consumer brand; Pinterest experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle is a plus.
- A proven track record of growing an account from a small or standing-start base, not just maintaining an established audience.
- Sharp visual judgment, strong copy instincts, and fluency in platform-native formats, trends, and pacing.
- Exceptional organization and follow-through to manage a detailed content calendar, production dependencies, approvals, and publishing without missing details.
- Working knowledge of Pinterest search, keyword, and discovery mechanics is a strong plus.
- A clear point of view and the ability to pitch ideas with a rationale, not just fill a content calendar.
Pay
The pay range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000 USD per year.
