About the role
The Social Media Producer plays a crucial role in enhancing Fordham University's brand awareness, strengthening its reputation, and engaging diverse audiences. Reporting to the Senior Director, Social Media and Creator Hub, this position focuses on creative and strategic content production, community management, and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes comprehensive social media strategies aligned with Fordham’s branding, marketing, and communications goals.
- Shoots and edits social media videos tailored specifically to Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube using either smartphones or professional equipment.
- Creates, curates, and manages multimedia content (text, images, videos) across Fordham’s social media platforms.
- Stays up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring Fordham’s content remains innovative.
- Maintains brand consistency by ensuring all content aligns with Fordham’s voice and adheres to best practices.
- Writes engaging scripts and copy that capture audience attention and encourage interaction across social platforms.
- Buils positive relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and stakeholders through active social media interactions.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote Fordham’s events, programs, and initiatives.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in social media management, ideally within higher education or nonprofit sectors.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of social media platforms, emerging trends, and analytics tools. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other content creation tools. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and project management skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in film and media, multimedia production, design, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience developing multimedia principles in support of a new brand and evolving brand platform preferred.

Pay
$75,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
Schedule
Hybrid schedule with 35 hours per week.
