About the role

Supports the Arts & Culture Division Community Engagement team through social media content development, deployment of strategic marketing campaigns, and assistance with community engagement initiatives and projects. Requires experience or background in writing, content creation, and research.

Qualifications

Minimum: Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, or other closely related field, or two (2) years of experience in Content Development and Marketing. Preference given to candidates with experience in community outreach, WordPress, social media platforms, and/or analytic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develops timely, engagement-focused content for social media platforms and email marketing (may involve attendance at client or Division events for content creation).
  • Collaborates with other Marketing staff to plan and schedule social media content calendar.
  • Researches up-to-date strategies and tools to support online engagement efforts.
  • Assists in maintaining content for both the venue's digital screens and the website.
  • Monitors online presence for Division venues and services.
  • Assists with research, data gathering, and reporting to support the Division's community engagement strategy.
  • Supports implementation of community engagement initiatives and projects through content creation and day-of event assistance.
  • Provides additional support for marketing campaigns and community engagement projects as needed.

Working Conditions

Work duties are typically performed in a general office setting. May be required to:

  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull items with a strength factor of light work
  • Sit or stand for extended periods
  • Climb a step stool/ladder and reach above shoulder height
  • Bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch
  • Work nights and weekends in conjunction with venue performance schedules and community engagement activities

Schedule

Paid temporary, non-exempt position averaging 29 hours or less per week or 129 hours or less per month.

Benefits

Not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
