Summary

Entravision is seeking a Social Media Editor to lead the editorial strategy and day-to-day execution of social media for our national Spanish-language streaming news platform. The Social Media Editor will oversee the social media team, establish editorial priorities, collaborate with newsroom leadership, and drive audience growth across all digital platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the editorial strategy and daily execution of all social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, and emerging digital channels.
  • Develop and manage the daily social publishing plan, ensuring timely, engaging, and accurate coverage of breaking news and original reporting.
  • Write, edit, and approve compelling, error-free Spanish copy, headlines, captions, and social-first storytelling.
  • Make real-time editorial decisions during breaking news, major live events, and special coverage.
  • Collaborate with Executive Producers, Line Producers, Assignment Editors, Reporters, Anchors, and Graphic Designers to maximize the impact and reach of editorial content.
  • Develop audience growth strategies through innovative storytelling, platform optimization, and emerging social media trends.
  • Analyze audience engagement, performance metrics, and platform analytics to continually improve content strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools, automation, and new technologies to enhance workflow and audience engagement.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing social media for a news organization, digital publisher, television network, or major brand.
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic audience, Latin America, current events, and digital consumption habits.
  • Experience producing short-form video, graphics, and social-first storytelling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, collaborative, and highly motivated.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during major news events.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, CapCut, Canva, and AI-powered content creation tools.
  • Experience with social listening, audience development, digital analytics, and content management systems.

Position Type

Supervisory Responsibility

Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast.
