About the role
The Social Media Community Manager supports engagement across brand social channels by monitoring conversations, identifying trends, responding to consumers, and helping maintain a consistent brand voice. This role contributes to brand reputation, consumer engagement, and business insights by turning social conversations into actionable recommendations and supporting cross-functional marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily community engagement across brand social channels, including posting, commenting, social listening, and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Monitor comments, direct messages, mentions, and online conversations across social media platforms.
- Respond to consumers in a thoughtful, professional, and on-brand manner while following established escalation guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, increase brand affinity, and foster community growth.
- Monitor emerging trends, cultural moments, risks, and consumer sentiment, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social media platforms.
- Partner with Influencer & Content, Brand, and other cross-functional teams to support campaign objectives and priorities.
- Provide recommendations on content themes, messaging, and FAQs based on community feedback and audience interactions.
- Track community trends, consumer questions, and overall sentiment.
- Translate social conversations into actionable insights and recommendations for internal teams.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and collaborate with the Influencer & Content team to develop new ideas and strategies.
- Support reporting efforts related to engagement metrics and community health.
- Follow community management best practices and moderation guidelines.
Requirements
- Current college student or recent graduate pursuing or holding a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing social media accounts for a club, campus organization, small business, personal brand, or similar project.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with close attention to tone and detail.
- Strong interest in social media, brand storytelling, digital marketing, and online culture.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
- Strong judgment and professionalism when engaging in public-facing communications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continuously develop skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience identifying social media trends, cultural moments, and emerging conversation themes.
- Experience using community insights to generate content ideas and recommendations.
- Familiarity with social listening, community management, analytics, or reporting tools.
