About the role
The Digital Worlds Institute within the College of the Arts is looking for a Social Media & Communications Coordinator to act as the voice of the Institute. This role combines responsibilities as a social media operator, marketer, and storyteller, playing a crucial part in supporting communication efforts across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Execute the marketing content calendar across primary social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Design consistent, on-brand graphics using Canva for social posts, event flyers, and newsletters
- Write compelling blog posts, student/alumni spotlights, and newsletter copy
- Coverage with the campus community for interviews and content features
Requirements
- Must be a currently enrolled University of Florida student (minimum 2.0 GPA)
- Knowledge of social media platforms, primarily Instagram and LinkedIn
- Knowledge of Canva
- Ability to work on-campus at the Norman Gym Building
- Ability to commit to 10 hours per week for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
Qualifications
- Preferred Ability to produce clear, compelling copy, including feature stories, blog posts, or newsletters
- Possess an eye for design and detail, with the ability to craft content that maintains a consistent brand voice
- Experience with social media management, including scheduling tools and engagement tracking
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment
- Interest in thinking creatively, strategically, and collaboratively to aid in educating the community on the experiences and offerings available to enhance the UF experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with others easily
- Evidence of skill in designing and facilitating work that advances curiosity, respect, open intellectual discourse, and the welcome incorporation and well-being of all in an environment of complex differences
