Snubber Tech II (Full Time)

About the role

Overview Element has an opportunity for a Snubber Technician II in our Huntsville, AL lab. In this role, you will be responsible for performing tests and/or measurement tasks for the Nuclear Snubber department. Nuclear Snubber: Testing and rebuilding of snubber devices at nuclear power plants during outages.

Responsibilities

• Removal and Reinstallation – Removes and reinstalls snubbers
• Perform Testing – Performs qualification, acceptance testing and RND testing for nuclear customers
• Maintenance – Maintains and rebuilds snubbers
• Under close supervision, complete basic technical and mechanical procedures including basic testing and maintenance on snubbers
• Some interaction with clients
• Able to assist with basic troubleshooting and basic interpretation and analysis of test results
• Basic knowledge of nuclear testing principles and basic safety practices
• Basic understanding in developing processes and procedures, test reports for qualification and acceptance testing
• Knowledge of Microsoft products
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• Technical Certification, AA or AS degree preferred
• 0‑3 years of experience

Skills

• Mechanically inclined
• Basic knowledge of nuclear testing principles and basic safety practices
• Basic understanding in developing processes and procedures, test reports for qualification and acceptance testing
• Knowledge of Microsoft products

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age
• Able to travel for weeks at a time
• Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay

Salary: $72,800.00 – $93,600.00 per year (DOE)
