Snubber Technician II

About the role

Element has an opportunity for a Snubber Technician II in our Huntsville, AL lab. In this role, you will be responsible for performing tests and/or measurement tasks for the Nuclear Snubber department, which involves testing and rebuilding snubber devices at nuclear power plants during outages. This is a casual role with irregular working hours and requires travel up to 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Removal and reinstallation – removes and reinstalls snubbers
• Perform testing – conducts qualification, acceptance testing and RND testing for nuclear customers
• Maintenance – maintains and rebuilds snubbers
• Under close supervision, complete basic technical and mechanical procedures including basic testing and maintenance on snubbers
• Some interaction with clients
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and basic interpretation and analysis of test results
• Apply basic knowledge of nuclear testing principles and basic safety practices
• Develop processes and procedures, and prepare test reports for qualification and acceptance testing
• Use Microsoft products for documentation and reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical certification, AA or AS degree preferred
• 0–3 years of relevant experience
• Mechanically inclined

Skills

• Basic knowledge of nuclear testing principles and safety practices
• Ability to develop processes and procedures and prepare test reports
• Proficiency with Microsoft products

Pay

$26–$38 per hour (DOE)

Schedule

Casual position with irregular working hours; travel required up to 100% of the time.
