Snowmaking Technician

About the role

Snowmakers are responsible for safely and efficiently operating snowmaking equipment. Snowmakers must be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions. Snowmaking is a physically demanding job. Snow is expected to be made whenever temperatures allow; many snowmaking shifts will occur overnight. Full-time seasonal positions available.

Pay

The starting wage for this position is $23.00/hr; higher wages based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Pre-season preparation (brush cutting, snow gun and pipeline installation and snow gun setup)
• Safe and efficient operation of snowmaking equipment to produce the quality snow that Stratton guests expect
• Complete maintenance on snowmaking equipment
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Work with minimal supervision
• Assist other departments and fill in as needed
• Follow all company safety policies
• Additional duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
• Must be 18+ years of age
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
• Ability to work in all winter conditions, including snow, rain, wind, ice
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include 12 hour and/or overnight shifts
• Previous snowmaking experience, preferred
• Previous experience operating snowmobiles, preferred
