Overview

As a Summit at Snoqualmie Snowmaking Supervisor, you assist the Snowmaking Manager with daily planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, while leading safety programs and providing performance input across the department. This role blends field oversight with data-driven, technology-supported planning to keep both shift crews safe, coordinated, and productive. Come work and play at Seattle's home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour West of Seattle via Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass, The Summit includes four unique mountain areas, a snow tubing park, Nordic center, SnowSports School, and 10+ food and beverage establishments.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Long Term Thinking: Assist the Manager in developing daily and weekly snow plans and resource allocation strategies; balance terrain-opening priorities against water, weather windows and labor resources
  • Excellence in Execution: Monitor weather forecasts and production systems, adjusting operations proactively; maintain proficiency with snowmaking tracking software, maintenance software and control systems; record and report snow production data, water usage, and equipment hours; perform all Snowmaking Foreman/Lead duties as needed
  • Attitude is Everything: Schedule day and night shift staff, managing shift handoffs and coverage gaps; communicate clearly, in writing and verbally, with department and resort leadership; perform additional duties/support when necessary
  • Develop Great People: Provide performance input for Snowmaker I-III staff to the Manager; mentor Snowmaking Foremen/Leads on leadership decision-making and crew management
  • Serve First: Lead pre-shift safety briefings; document and report incidents and ensure PPE compliance

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6-10 years of snowmaking experience
  • Proficient in all Snowmaking Foreman/Lead skills
  • Proficient with snowmaking software, weather monitoring tools, and production data reporting
  • Strong strategic thinking and resource-allocation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with department and resort leadership
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license

Preferred:

  • Prior formal supervisory or scheduling experience
  • Experience with incident reporting and safety compliance documentation

Pay

The wage range for this position is from $30.00-34.00/hr DOE.

Benefits

  • All individuals may contribute to the 401(k)
  • An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff)
  • All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year
