Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
What You’ll Do
At Denver Human Services (DHS), the Economic Security Division focuses on strengthening economic well-being and mobility across the lifespan. The Economic Security Division includes four program areas: SNAP to Success, Child Care Assistance Program, Colorado Works Workforce Development, and Child Support Services. The Economic Security Division is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant V (ASA V) to support the SNAP Employment & Training program, known as SNAP to Success, and the Colorado Works Program.
Lead Work & Workflow Coordination
- Apply Colorado Works Program regulations to ensure accurate and timely customer intake, workforce participation, and program performance reporting
- Ensure Colorado Works Program compliance, develop and modify work plans, methods, procedures, and work schedules to ensure adequate staff coverage and effective administrative workflow
- Assign and distribute administrative work, review for accuracy and completeness, and provide recommendations for proper completion
- Provide work instruction and assist staff with difficult or unusual assignments
Administrative & Program Support
- Serve as the initial point of contact for customers via phone, email, office locations, and community partner sites, using trauma-informed customer service consistent with DHS values
- Provide technical troubleshooting and systems support for staff using Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and other agency platforms, ensuring smooth administrative workflow and accurate information management
- Perform outreach to internal DHS programs and community partners to share program information and support customer engagement, including orientation and employability training events
- Utilize multiple information systems to input data; create, edit, and maintain reports; and compile or retrieve files and databases
- Act as an informational resource for the work unit by evaluating and applying job-related information to support staff and resolve issues
- Resolve operational problems and questions and recommend consistent standards for ongoing problem resolution
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency with Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS)
- Experience providing trauma-informed care and using a holistic approach to service delivery
- Effective communication in both oral and written formats
- Comfortable with video and audio-conferencing systems including Microsoft Teams and data tracking systems
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Passion for and flexibility to work with diverse populations and partners throughout the Denver community
- Training and experience with Mental Health First Aid
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
- Experience: Three (3) years of clerical experience, including two (2) years at the level of Administrative Support Assistant IIIE
