Clarke Vehicare’s SMART Tech program (Skilled, Mentored, And Real-World Trained) is an entry-level diesel technician opportunity for individuals eager to build a career in heavy-duty truck repair. Trainees work alongside experienced mentors in a modern shop, using smartphones, laptops, and tablets to document every repair.
About the role
This paid mentorship training program provides hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of diesel truck repairs. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a diesel repair program or have prior exposure and a strong interest in truck mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
- Perform light- and medium-duty truck repairs
- Use provided major shop tools and diagnostic equipment
- Bring and maintain standard technician-owned hand tools
- Adhere to all health and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a college or technical-school diesel repair program
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card
- Ability to read and write repair reports
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs with assistance
