SMART Diesel Technician

Clarke Vehicare’s SMART Tech program (Skilled, Mentored, And Real-World Trained) is an entry-level diesel technician opportunity for individuals eager to build a career in heavy-duty truck repair. Trainees work alongside experienced mentors in a modern shop, using smartphones, laptops, and tablets to document every repair.

About the role

This paid mentorship training program provides hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of diesel truck repairs. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a diesel repair program or have prior exposure and a strong interest in truck mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
• Perform light- and medium-duty truck repairs
• Use provided major shop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Bring and maintain standard technician-owned hand tools
• Adhere to all health and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a college or technical-school diesel repair program
• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card
• Ability to read and write repair reports
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs with assistance
