About the Role
The Small Parcel Receiver plays a key role in ensuring parcel shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This position supports daily warehouse operations through receiving, sorting, labeling, and staging parcel freight while delivering professional service to internal teams and customers. This position is non-supervisory.
Responsibilities
- Parcel Receiving & Processing
- Receive, log, and process incoming parcel shipments accurately
- Label freight using barcodes and tracking systems
- Research and verify final destinations for shipments
- Identify and document damaged or improperly labeled freight
- Warehouse Operations
- Load and unload parcel trucks, vans, and trailers safely
- Sort and stage freight for outbound delivery
- Move freight throughout the warehouse and yard using appropriate equipment
- Customer & Team Support
- Assist customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors
- Collaborate to ensure efficient daily operations
- Safety, Equipment & Facility Care
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Participate in safety meetings and trainings
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Administrative & General Duties
- Accurately complete required paperwork and tracking documentation
- Follow work instructions to determine task priorities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Forklift certification and/or Hazardous Materials certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Skills
- Effective communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer operation skills
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and move up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and standing
- Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environments with exposure to weather and equipment
