About the role
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment while building your technical skills through industry-leading training and development programs.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, inspect, repair, and recondition John Deere small engine and compact tractor equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance/repair work according to manufacturer specifications and TNE standards.
- Utilize technical diagnostic tools, software, and special equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete component removal, disassembly, inspection, reconditioning, and reassembly following established repair procedures.
- Accurately document labor, parts usage, diagnostics, and repair findings.
- Communicate repair recommendations and service opportunities to service advisors and customers.
- Collaborate with Service, Parts, and Sales teams to support customer uptime and satisfaction.
- Maintain technical knowledge through TNE-sponsored and manufacturer training programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional image when interacting with customers and the community.
- Participate in company meetings, training, huddles, and communication efforts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing outdoor power equipment, compact tractors, or related equipment.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment and systems preferred.
- Strong computer skills and ability to utilize service software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in small engine repair, diesel technology, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet True North Equipment driving standards preferred.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Skills

Pay
$19-$25+/hour depending on experience
Schedule
- Off-season: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- In-season: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM and rotational Saturdays, 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM
