About the role
The Slot Technician performs a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of slot machines with infrequent assistance, possesses extensive knowledge of both mechanical and electronic aspects of slot machine repair, and provides training or assistance to lesser experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and respond to a variety of customer service-related issues.
- Repair and maintain component-level electronic circuitry in gaming devices.
- Install and remove gaming devices.
- Perform day-to-day preventative maintenance, troubleshoot ticket-in ticket-out and coin machines, perform hopper tests, clear coin jams and bill validator jams.
- Assist in game conversions and firmware upgrades.
- Investigate and verify ticket issues.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.
- Maintain and calibrate currency validators, execute machine moves, game conversions, installations, and floor upgrades of current ticket-in ticket-out products.
- Investigate device malfunctions of various gaming devices and clear coin/bill jams.
- Perform day-to-day repair and preventative maintenance of all slot machines.
- Clean and sanitize work and public spaces.
- Adhere to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Electronic background or minimum two-year experience in slot operations.
- Two or more years’ experience in the Gaming Industry or an equivalent customer service environment.
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
- Must be twenty-one years of age or older.
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, flexible shifts, and/or unusual hours.
Skills
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Team leadership and motivational skills.
- Electronics at the circuit board level.
- Technical experience and training with slots.
- Electronic and computer programming.
- Ability to deliver a service level that creates a positive, memorable guest experience.
- Clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.
- Ability to work on the casino floor with varying levels of crowds and noise.
- Effective communication with guests and all levels of team members.
- Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees.
- Inspect and maintain areas of responsibility.
- Review and comprehend necessary documentation.
- Use all machine test equipment.
