Slitting Operator

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Produces paper rolls and maintains productivity from a variety of slitting machines (includes adjusting and making setups)
• Maintains equipment adjusted and maintained
• Keeps equipment and area clean in designated work area
• Maintains records to include quality records
• Prepares orders based on appropriate import/export specifications
• Enters data, tracks, gathers information and generates standard reports
• Affirm correct raw materials are being used
• Fills out production report at the end of the job
• Sets up and maintains equipment
• Ensures that equipment runs in accordance with operational standards
• Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance
• Ensure the correct raw materials are being processed
• Fills out various production reports
• Weight lifted: Lower 0-25lb, Weight repeatedly lifted per shift: Occasional 0-25 times per shift
• Work environment involves repetitive lifting in the lower range and occasional lifting in the higher range
• Exposure to electrical hazards, dust, moving machinery, noise, and odors
• Goggles and earplugs may be required

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Must be able to perform tasks requiring repetitive lifting in the lower range and occasional lifting in the higher range. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Must be able to operate various types of machinery and equipment.
