About the role
The Skill Development Professional is responsible for providing individualized skill development services to children with disabilities in a therapeutic setting. This role requires a strong background in early childhood education and developmental psychology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized skill development plans based on child assessments and goals
- Provide direct skill development services to children in a therapeutic environment
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each child
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new research
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (due to travel to multiple sites)
Qualifications
- Experience with evidence-based interventions for skill development
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes
