Rotation project dependent, most commonly 14 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour shifts (days and nights). Lodging and food provided, or a living/subsistence allowance will be offered.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of alcohol and drug screening
- MSHA Part 48 certification (all field-based workers and equipment operators)
- Physically conditioned to repetitively and safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work a rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day, for both day or night shifts as required and subject to change depending on project needs
- Comfortable handling noise and vibrations on the job
- Prepared and willing to perform additional labor duties as/when required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, shine, snow, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Perform work in support of project scope mandate
- Maintain courteous and professional relationships with clients; respond to inquiries promptly and carry out work to satisfy client requests and project quality standards
- Assist maintenance in scheduling equipment preventative maintenance or repair
- Motivate, inspire, observe, and delegate tasks to crew
- Inspire productivity, promote training and cross-training, and create a positive team culture
- Build knowledge and understanding of safety practices, scheduling techniques, trade knowledge, and employee engagement
- Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations
- Champion safety culture by adhering to Morgan’s Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies; demonstrate strong understanding of safety protocols
- Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Field-Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) as required
- Demonstrate exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills
- Collaborate effectively with team members and independently take ownership of tasks
- Operate 2-way radio
- Perform labor duties as/when required
- Assist ground personnel as/when required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a Site Supervisor on heavy civil earthworks for mining, lease construction, highway construction, dam/dyke construction, landfill construction, underground utility installation, pad building, pad extensions, infills, sub prep, stripping, and/or dirt management projects
- Expert-level experience as an excavator, dozer, or grader operator
