About the role
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily data collection operations, supervising staff, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to established protocols. This role manages staffing, scheduling, performance, and operational issues while serving as the primary on-site lead for office and facility operations, ensuring the site remains organized, fully operational, and prepared to support business needs.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a team of Data Collection Technicians and regularly direct the work of at least two full-time employees or their equivalent.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions. Recommendations regarding employment actions are given substantial weight.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reporting, and documentation.
- Manage relationships with vendors, building management, and service providers.
- Coordinate facility operations, equipment maintenance, inventory, office supplies, and workplace readiness.
- Oversee site access, security procedures, visitor management, and general office administration.
- Ensure the site remains safe, organized, and operationally prepared.
- Partner with Research, Hardware, and Product teams to support project goals.
- Keep the Head of Data Collection informed of staffing needs, operational performance, and project status.
- Escalate operational issues and risks as needed.
Requirements
- Experience leading frontline, operations, or hourly teams.
- Experience hiring, onboarding, training, and managing employees.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience reviewing timecards, expense reports, payroll-related documentation, or operational records preferred.
- Experience in research operations, data collection, logistics, hospitality, or similar operational environments preferred.
