About the role
As a Newborn Hearing Screen Site Supervisor, you will oversee the Newborn Hearing Screen program at multiple sites within your region. This role focuses on the direct delivery of newborn hearing screening services, serving as the on-site technical lead to ensure high-quality screening practices and support real-time workflow needs. Administrative responsibilities are limited and centered on immediate, site-level operational support.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accountability to ensure all eligible babies are screened.
- Perform newborn hearing screenings in accordance with clinical protocols and hospital requirements, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Meet screening expectations set by the Hearing Screen Manager and immediately inform them of any hospital issues or missed babies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with parents and ensure scheduling of all follow-up outpatient appointments where appropriate.
- Create schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet hospital obligations and program requirements; escalate staffing gaps or concerns to the Hearing Screen Manager.
- Review timecards and approve time-off requests.
- Participate in Hearing Screen Technician interviews and hiring, as directed by the Hearing Screen Manager.
- Supervise Hearing Screen Technicians and conduct annual performance evaluations.
- Train all new hires and ensure continued training for current team members; monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and review them during monthly staff meetings.
- Complete company and hospital requirements, including orientation and compliance modules as needed.
- Provide real-time technical guidance and support to screening staff; identify and escalate concerns or deviations in protocol.
- Ensure consistent regular onsite visits and meet with hospital leadership, including presenting reports.
- Address team member and hospital concerns to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Maintain screener TB/CPR/training requirements and ensure credentialing at all supervised locations.
- Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures, including appropriate PPE, required vaccinations, safety/security protocols, and annual compliance modules.
- Supervise daily state reporting for all team members; complete and present all state and hospital reporting per state guidelines.
- Monitor and review Medical Sponsor reports for timely submission by the physician sponsor to ensure adherence to the Medical Sponsor Policy.
- Review and reconcile birth stats monthly, resolving any questions or concerns prior to deadlines.
- Monitor Power BI reports for site and Hearing Screen Technician (HST) efficiencies and address as needed.
- Monitor equipment checklist weekly and ensure no parts are swapped out without contacting NATUS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a manager or a combination of training and experience.
- Prior experience with newborns and/or in a healthcare setting.
- 1-2 years managing multiple sites (preferred).
