Key Responsibilities
- Ensure quality, safe, and efficient operations are maintained at assigned contract location
- Conduct regular reviews of responsible areas at assigned location. Submit weekly inspection reports to Landscape Operations Manager
- Exercise direct supervision of all assigned employees at assigned contract location
- Prepare evaluations on all assigned personnel. Recommend approval/disapproval, and forward requests for vacation, advance salary requests, and other personnel actions
- Make recommendations relating to personnel assignments, disciplinary matters, and annual increases
- Direct all employees in the use of proper methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure quality, and safe performance of duties
- Maintain contact with the customer contract managers to insure the work is being performed per contract specifications and to keep them informed of any special problems or schedule changes
- Submit notes to Operations on meetings with contract managers within five working days of the meeting
- Fiscally manage labor, supplies, equipment and other direct line items of contracts assigned
- Review supply and equipment requests to ensure they are being used efficiently and within fiscal guidelines for each contract site
- Review security, marking, care, and proper use of supplies, equipment, and vehicles as part of the regularly scheduled inspection process
- Maintain employee time sheet accuracy and timeliness. Review and initial, or sign time sheets, ensure proper use of leave, and authorize overtime
- Act as a first contact in case of an emergency, accident, incident, or worker problem at the contract site. Provide initial investigation and report to Operations
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of contact sheets, incident reports, accident reports, workers' compensation forms, and any other required reports or records
- Ensure the timeliness, completion, and accuracy of workers' evaluations, time trials, vacation requests, and other worker personnel issues handled by their assigned foremen
- Ensure completion and compliance with all other administrative paperwork and/or procedures, as required, to include security measures
- Conduct established orientation for new staff and workers
- Attend meetings, in-services and conferences as required to keep abreast of the custodial industry and to enhance management skills
- Submit a monthly report by the 10th day of the following month to the Operations Director, through the Custodial Operations Manager. Monthly reports should address the following: current activities of assigned staff and crews; outstanding or substandard performances and activities observed during weekly site visits; major accomplishments and concerns; goals for upcoming month
- Ensure site foremen properly maintain and keep an updated inventory of their assigned equipment
- Facilitate/review safety training daily
- Follow-up on Quality Control results and perform corrective actions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ten (10) years’ supervisory experience and/or contract work
- Experience managing custodial contract valued at $750,000 or more
- Good management and people skills
- Must be able to pass all required pre-employment background checks, government clearances and drug testing
