Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure the organization complies with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and recommend improvements.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
- Develop and maintain risk management plans and safety protocols.
- Design and deliver project site specific orientation training programs for all project staff.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
- Document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and update emergency response plans.
- Conduct drills and ensure readiness for various emergency scenarios.
- Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, incidents, and compliance efforts.
- Prepare reports for management, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
- Conduct routine safety audits and document according to company standards.
- Lead initiatives to improve EHS performance, including implementing new technologies or practices.
- Stay updated with changes in EHS laws and industry best practices.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training, reporting and working with customers.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- LOTO experience in electrical industry.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Public Health or related field.
- Required: 5+ years of experience in EHS in the electrical industry.
- Required: OSHA 30 and NFPA 70e Certifications.
- Required: CPR/First Aid certified.
