Site Safety Representative
About the role
Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Site Safety Representative to join our office in Houston, TX. As a Site Safety Representative at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Division Safety Manager and Corporate Safety Director, you will have the opportunity to provide onboarding and safety orientation for new employees, maintain a visible site presence to monitor daily work activities, identify hazards, and enforce compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, customer requirements, and Fisk safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide onboarding and safety orientation for new employees.
- Maintain a visible site presence to monitor daily work activities, identify hazards, and enforce compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, customer requirements, and Fisk safety policies.
- Review look-ahead schedules, job hazard analyses, and work plans to confirm appropriate safety measures, including LOTO, PPE, and task-specific controls, are in place before work begins.
- Support the development and review of MOPs, SOPs, and electrical safety procedures aligned with company policies and project requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field training while coaching employees and supervisors on safe work practices.
- Maintain SDS documentation and support the Hazard Communication Program.
- Lead or assist with investigations of near misses, injuries, and safety incidents; complete root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and required documentation.
- Provide immediate first aid response when needed and coordinate additional medical attention, case management, drug testing, and return-to-work support as required.
- Work effectively with project management, field supervision, safety leadership, and other departments to resolve safety concerns and support project execution.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or a related field is preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive construction safety experience, preferably with commercial or industrial electrical construction.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction credential required; current First Aid and CPR certifications required.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical hazard mitigation, LOTO, PPE requirements, and safety practices for low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and apply safety controls to field activities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, training records, and multiple on-site priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train, coach, and build credibility with field employees and project leadership.
- Valid driver’s license required; must meet company driving policy requirements and customer badging/background requirements.
