Site Safety Coordinator (Renewables Construction - Nationwide Opportunities!)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and present safety training to support Wanzek and client requirements, including planning, documentation, and presentation.
  • May include: New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, etc.
  • Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance.
  • Aid in incident reporting and assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans.
  • Communicate with Wanzek management regarding safety matters.
  • Ensure safety documentation is complete and accurate as required by Wanzek and regulations.
  • Develop and administer recognition systems with Safety Managers to promote safe and healthful work performance, i.e. “Good Catch”.
  • Ensure sufficient supply of suitable inventory of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Work with the Site Safety Lead to order more supplies as needed.
  • May assist with pulling safety report information and putting together safety report detail documents for Safety Managers.
  • Complete drug screen collections as needed.
  • Understand and implement the site-specific emergency response plan.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of construction experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety.
    • Take personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles.
    • Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
