Site Reliability / Java Developer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SRE / Java Developer to join our engineering team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a Contract position requiring a Bachelor's degree. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining application reliability, optimizing automated deployments, and implementing modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our web applications remain scalable, high-performing, and resilient.

Responsibilities

• Develop, scale, and maintain robust web applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Build and manage CI/CD deployment pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Implement monitoring and logging strategies using Splunk and ELK to drive application observability.
• Participate in system troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis to maintain high availability.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications with Java/J2EE.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines via GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Direct experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and the ELK stack.
• Solid understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and operational best practices.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native application deployment.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and containerization concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
