Pay

The full pay range for this role is $32.16 - $53.56 per hour, with a good faith estimated starting pay of $36.00 to $46.00 per hour. Salary decisions are based on factors including relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams by overseeing execution of daily maintenance and repair work plans to expected performance standards, safety, and schedule
• Ensure effective communications between field technicians and the operations manager
• Assist the operations manager with performance of QC assessments of work by technical team
• Serve as the technical expert in troubleshooting, resolving complex repairs, checking work quality, and coaching less skilled team members
• Act as a lead and assist field technicians with HV operations
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of generating assets, including BOP and SCADA communications
• Perform switching at substations, substation inspections, and maintenance activities
• Support operations manager with planning and allocation of resources to maximize facility output while minimizing costs
• Conduct inventory management activities, including research for spare parts and specialty tools
• Assist with creating, reviewing, and approving management reports, Work Requests, and TECO transactions
• Assist operations manager with all safety aspects at the site, including periodic safety walks to drive compliance and standards
• Drive continuous improvement and performance improvement campaigns to enhance operational KPIs
• Act as a backup to the Operations Manager
• Provide technical oversight of frontline operations staff and support in overseeing external contractors
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Technician or 3 years in a similar Lead Technician role
• Valid current driver’s license and ability to meet organizational requirements to operate motor vehicles
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills
• Understanding of operational site performance and relevant KPIs
• Knowledge of EDFR Policies and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings of renewable energy technologies
• Demonstrated thorough understanding of key safety concepts and work practices
• Good communication and meeting facilitation skills

Training

Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory five-week training and certification course at the start of employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Training is held in Albert Lea, MN, with travel, accommodation, and expenses provided.

Schedule & Location

This is an on-site position at our Spinning Spur 1 site located in Vega, Texas.

Working conditions: 20% office environment (utilizing computers, phones, and general office equipment), 80% field work (troubleshooting, repairs, guiding personnel, auditing safety and quality, training, and overseeing contractors).

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, climb, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to talk or listen
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Able to work at heights, including climbing towers, entering nacelles and hubs at extreme heights (wind turbine generators only)
• Able to work in a mechanical environment (formal training, previous auto mechanic experience, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude)
• Able to operate company vehicles on site and public roads/highways
• Must have a current driver’s license with a good DMV record
• Demonstrate good work habits, including attendance and maintaining a neat, orderly work environment
