Site Manager

We design and build high-density, high-precision racking systems with automated pallet shuttles (like our Atlas 1D) that eliminate wide forklift aisles. Our customers gain up to 70% more pallet storage, maximize vertical space, improve picking accuracy, and reduce labor costs and product damage. With over 40 years of experience, we operate 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and employ around 2000 people across 40 countries. Our U.S. presence includes a Romeoville, IL office with over 70 employees and a new manufacturing plant opening in the greater Atlanta area.

About the role

The Site Manager oversees on-site activities during the assembly and construction phase of racking and automated storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with stow QSHE standards to maintain a safe, efficient, and high-quality work environment.
• Uphold Lean principles and drive continuous improvement within the organization.
• Ensure all executed activities and processes comply with stow’s QSHE standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.
• Follow the project-specific safety plan and adhere to OSHA or OHSA standards (depending on project location).
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to support overall project execution.
• Coordinate with Engineering team members to produce or adjust technical documents and drawings for the project.
• Supervise the execution of assigned projects and manage subcontractor personnel on-site.
• Support subcontractors with problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct site safety training and regulatory checks to maintain a safe work environment.
• Identify and escalate project risks to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Review drawings and blueprints with subcontractors and foremen.
• Lead weekly/monthly site coordination meetings, activity planning, and provide progress reports to Project Management.
• Monitor project progress and quality, initiating corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Maintain and adhere to the project budget.
• Manage on-site receiving of materials and control equipment certificates to ensure compliance throughout the project.
• Monitor and report potential delays that could impact the project timeline.
• Take ownership of results and act proactively within given authority.

Administration

• Provide required reports and information promptly upon request from Management.
• Analyze the bill of materials for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all project-related documentation is up to date and properly stored/archived.
• Track claims, identify variations, and draft delay notifications with substantiation of costs based on existing contract agreements.
• Communicate project variations initiated by the client or subcontractors to the Project Manager.

Training & Development

• Share technical knowledge with project management and other team members.
• Conduct on-site safety training for personnel.
• Participate in company and team training as required.
• Maintain and improve relevant technical knowledge and skills.
