Site Lead - Operational Excellence

About the role

The Lead – Operational Excellence & Automation at InvaGen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (a Cipla subsidiary) will be responsible for driving cost productivity through constraint/critical formulation and throughput improvement projects. This role also oversees automation and control systems projects, resolves equipment breakdowns, and manages OEE tracking to identify losses and drive improvement projects.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

• Drive constraint/critical formulation projects and throughput improvement projects on constraint/critical lines.
• Identify and manage scope for opportunity/improvement by analyzing trends of batches for continuous improvement.
• Ensure HSE and cGMP practices are strictly followed during continuous improvement projects.
• Compile all completed projects and track financial impact for savings alignment with CFT.
• Oversee automation and control systems projects across all units with complex automation platforms and instrumentation systems.
• Resolve equipment breakdowns related to specialized automation hardware, software, and control systems.
• Initiate OEE tracking of bottleneck lines to identify losses and drive improvement projects.
• Improve process capability of products using DMAIC approach and enable 'golden batch' outcomes.
• Train unit teams on Excel and PowerPoint for process capability improvement and cycle time variability reduction.
• Support site-specific project management for manufacturing technology upgradation based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Preferably a Graduate in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• 10-15 years of experience in Manufacturing/Engineering/Automation field, with a strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus).
• Proven ability in problem-solving and strong analytical skills.
• Quick learner with a keen interest in new technologies and tackling complex challenges.
• Solid knowledge of process engineering.
• Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams (CFT).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
