Site Controller

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the site-level accounting operations, including general ledger activity, month-end and year-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review accurate, timely financial statements and management reports for site leadership and corporate finance.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze site budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and other functional leaders to provide financial insight that supports business decisions.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation.
  • Analyze cost trends, margins, and operational performance, providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Support inventory accounting, standard costing, and physical inventory processes as applicable to the site.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements relevant to the site’s operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop site accounting staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Administer lease accounting tools and appropriate journal entries for the site.
  • Keep apprised of international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure global and domestic compliance.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in accounting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 16+ years of related experience; or Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field and 12+ years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field and 10+ years of related experience; or MBA or master’s degree in accounting or finance and 8+ years of related experience.
  • 8+ years in progressive leadership roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Education & Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent and 16+ years of related experience; or Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field and 12+ years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field and 10+ years of related experience; or MBA or master’s degree in accounting or finance and 8+ years of related experience.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
