About the role
The Site Controller operates as a key member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) at a complex chemical manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for leading finance on-site and partnering closely with Operations, Commercial, Procurement and Central Finance.
Responsibilities
- Own and be accountable for the integrity of all site financial reporting, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS/ GAAP, internal controls and INEOS Group policies, and internal control frameworks.
- Lead balance sheet governance, ensuring risks are identified, escalated and resolved.
- Own the governance, reconciliation, and resolution of all intercompany transactions across INEOS business sites, ensuring balances are accurate, aligned, and cleared in a timely manner in accordance with Group policy.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for audit readiness and external/ internal audit processes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Site Manager, driving strategic and operational decisions.
- Act as a core member of the Site Leadership Team, providing financial leadership across all site activities.
- Drive financial performance by challenging assumptions, identifying risks/ opportunities, and influencing outcomes.
- Lead financial input into major contracts, investment, and commercial arrangements.
- Provide clear, actionable insight into cost drivers, profitability, and capital allocation.
- Support and challenge other functions to maximize INEOS Acetyl’s returns.
- Own the governance and resolution of intercompany transactions across INEOS business sites, ensuring balances are accurate, reconciled, and cleared in a timely manner.
- Own the annual budget and monthly forecast process for the site.
- Lead performance reviews with stakeholders, driving accountability for financial targets.
- Translate operational performance into financial outcomes and communicate to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee development of cost and profitability models.
- Own the SAP financial environment and ensure integrity of financial data and processes.
- Lead month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Oversee master data governance (cost centers, GLs, allocations, activity rates).
- Ensure continuous improvement and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Own the Oracle HFM submission.
- Own all aspects of production accounting, ensuring accurate consumption, production, variances and stock valuation.

- Own site cash flow performance, including forecasting, working capital optimization, and risk management.
- Drive improvements in inventory, payables, and receivables to optimize cash conversion.
- Provide clear visibility of cash risk and opportunities to Leadership.
- Own the stock reconciliation and the safeguarding of inventory assets and SAP accuracy.
- Lead, develop, and manage the site finance team (5 employees).
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with other INEOS sites to ensure consistent financial treatment, cost alignment, and intercompany integrity across the Group.
- Provide coaching and succession planning to ensure strong bench strength.
- Own relationships with auditors, external partners, and internal corporate finance.
- Drive adherence to Delegation of Authority (DOA) and financial governance standards.
Requirements
- CPA qualified Accountant preferred, or Bachelors’ degree in Accounting & Finance with 5+ years relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS/ GAAP and financial controls.
- Strong SAP systems experience.
- Proven experience in leading budgeting, forecasting, and performance.
- Strong digital skills.
- Strong numerical and analytic skills, business acumen and understanding of business drivers.
