Site/Civil Senior Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design of grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage and water & sewer design.
- Work closely with Senior Project Manager and agency staff.
- Prepare and coordinate all Land Development design aspects.
- Client communication
- Construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight
- Engineering analyses and cost estimates
- Quality control/quality assurance in order to deliver a quality design product.
- Train junior engineers in CAD, computations, and general design.
- Participate and facilitate department wide trainings
- Attend industry focused task force meetings as technical lead
- Other duties as required.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
- Eight (8) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects required. Ten or more years preferred.
- PE in the State of Maryland required.
- Preparation of reports, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
- Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects required.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software required.
- Experience in delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
- Ability to perform and/or direct civil related engineering work on diverse design projects across various market segments and with varying degrees of complexity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and Dewberry-specific software programs.
