About the role

We are looking for a driven Site Civil and Water Resources Engineer in Kansas City, MO to support our stormwater and site development design projects. As a key member of our team, you’ll work on challenging projects ranging from small site and stormwater design to large building projects or public and private infrastructure upgrades. Responsibilities include site civil planning, layout, grading, drainage (hydrology and hydraulics), stormwater/green infrastructure design, utility design, erosion control, design review, permitting, and construction support. You’ll collaborate with project teams through all phases of plan production, from planning and concept design to bid-ready documents and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site civil and water resources design for stormwater and site development projects.
  • Perform site layout, grading, drainage (hydrology and hydraulics), and stormwater/green infrastructure design.
  • Design utilities and erosion control measures.
  • Assemble and review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Support permitting and construction phases.
  • Collaborate with project teams through all phases of plan production.
  • Take on project management duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proficient professional engineering experience in site layout, grading and drainage, stormwater/green infrastructure, utility, and erosion control design.
  • Experience leading a team to assemble and review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Project management experience or a desire to take on project management duties.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state and ability to obtain via reciprocity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • CAD/C3D design experience.
  • Familiarity with drainage programs such as Hydraflow, HydroCAD, Culvertmaster, or Flowmaster.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $140,000.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Jacobs offers a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to deliver their best work. In-person interactions are encouraged for collaboration, culture, and client delivery.
